Brian Phillips, owner of worldSALON and CEO of worldPRODUCTS, opened worldSALON in 1989. Since then, this award-winning beauty hot spot has been continually heralded in the media as one of Canada’s top salons, and is frequented by the cognoscenti of the business, film and television communities.

Brian has styled the hair of an array of celebrities including Kim Cattrall, Terrence Howard, k.d. lang, James Marsden, Nora Jones and Jessica Stam.

In 1998, he was selected as a finalist in the Male Hairstylist of the Year category at the Contessa Awards. worldSALON itself was also a Contessa finalist for the Canadian Salon of the Year. Voted Toronto Life’s Perennial Best Hair Experience, worldSALON has graced the covers of publications such as Chatelaine, Fashion and Salon Magazine, and Brian has been interviewed for radio and television shows including City Line, Powerlines, CBC News, the Ken and Mary-Jo Show and Greener Toronto.

Donna Edwards has B.A. in Psychology, a Minor in Business Administration, and a supplemental specialization – a Certificate in Organizational and Career Development.

She has held positions in Human Resources, Administration, and Training within large top 100 Canadian corporations including Mutual Life of Canada (now Sun Life), Federal Express Canada and Vickers and Benson Advertising. Throughout her career, Donna has gained expertise in dealing with employees at all levels, and turned this knowledge into assisting organizations to maximize employee performance, increase profitability and ensure success.

Maria Petrou joined worldSALON in 1995 and has become notorious for her incredible blondes. Her clients are so fiercely loyal, many travel great distances to get the magic Maria touch. Her short cuts are super precise and the long cap cut much copied.

Gary Allen started working at worldSALON as a Co-op student in February 2008 and was hired on a full-time basis shortly thereafter. A uniquely gifted artist, Gary’s painting was featured at the AGO as part of the young artist collective.

He uses his background in both the Arts and Illustration to push the boundaries of hairstyling and design. Gary traveled to Miami as part of the artistic team for Mac Cosmetics Spring Collection and to Germany and France to train with LA BIOSTHETIQUE Paris on their 2010 Spring Collection. Gary has also created exquisite looks for the Coleman Lemieux Compagnie. His styles have been featured in Viva Magazine and 2 Magazine. His cuts are distinctive – a real luxury for his clientele.

Originally from California, Johanna Hummer recently joined worldSALON. She is a Contessa Awards finalist who has been acknowledged in both the fashion and salon industry for her imagery and her remarkable eye for detail.

Johanna’s make-over looks, including cuts and colours, have been featured in both Viva Magazine and 2 Magazine. She journeyed to Miami to work on styles for the Mac Cosmetics Spring Collection and to Germany and France for training on the 2010 Spring Collection for LA BIOSTHETIQUE Paris. Johanna begins each service with a thorough consultation, ensuring her hair designs are a collaboration of her artistry and her clients’ personal style.

Lukas Suter joined worldSALON in November 2009. He began his career in hair at age 15 in Zurich, Switzerland. He trained extensively in colour and cutting with Europe’s LA BIOSTHETIQUE, a world-renowned leader in international hair beauty trends.

Over the past 2 years, Lukas has worked in salons in the UK and Greece. Only in Canada a short time, he has already made a name for himself. Lukas’ client list includes Sophie Milman, international jazz singer/performer. His styles have been featured in Viva Magazine; he recently traveled to Miami to work with the Mac Cosmetics Spring Collection, and trained in Europe on the 2010 Spring Collection for LA BIOSTHETIQUE Paris. Lukas’ European flair and fresh styles are a perfect fit with worldSALON’s talented team of professionals.
