Look out for ‘greenwashing’

Greenwashing is a term used when a company will use advertising and packaging to make a product or brand seem like more of a clean alternative than they actually are. A company may advertise a product as “clean” because it’s free of one toxin, but it still contains other harmful ingredients. Brian Phillips of World Salon recommends reading the label first and then looking into the company itself to see what other products they have on the market. Check to see if they are using safe ingredients intentionally through all their offerings, instead of as a marketing tool.
